Our commitment

La Joya Mexican Cafe is committed to making this website usable for people of all abilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. We treat accessibility as an ongoing job, not a one time checklist.

What we have done

The site is built and maintained with these practices in mind.

• Semantic HTML so screen readers can understand the structure of each page.
• Descriptive alt text on meaningful images, and empty alt on decorative ones.
• Keyboard navigation across menus, forms, and interactive elements, with visible focus states.
• Color contrast tuned to meet AA targets against the brand palette.
• A language toggle that uses Google Translate so non English speakers can read the site in their language.
• Support for the operating system reduced motion setting, which calms or removes animations.
• Responsive layouts so the site is usable on phones, tablets, and desktops.
• Form fields with real labels and clear required field indicators.

Known limitations

We embed videos from YouTube and we may add Instagram embeds in the future. Those third party players have their own accessibility behavior that we do not fully control. If a third party embed gets in your way, please tell us and we will look for an alternative.
